The Chapel Royal at Massey College, Gi-Chi-Twaa Gimaa Kwe, Mississauga Anishinaabek AName Gamik, is an interfaith chapel that symbolizes the treaty relationship between the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Crown.
Its mission is to honor the treaty relationship, celebrate spirituality for the Massey community, and contribute to truth and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.
The activities of the Chapel Royal are directed by a committee which reports to both the Chief of the Mississaugas of the Credit and myself. Members of the committee are appointed for three-year terms, renewable once.
We are seeking nominations for four members of the Chapel Royal Committee. All members of the Massey Community (including Junior Fellows, Senior Fellows, Members of the Quadrangle Society, Alumni, and Staff) are eligible.
Candidates should submit a short letter to my attention, ndesrosiers@masseycollege.ca by December 1st, 2021, describing your interest in the mission of the Chapel Royal, and outlining what you will be able to contribute to the work of the committee.
