There is a new exhibition at Robertson Davies Library this autumn called Native Nature: Visual Discourse in Longfellow’s Wild America. It features illustrations from Henry W. Longfellow’s works, such as The Song of Hiawatha (1855), along with other Victorian era writing and images that reveal European attitudes toward nature and Indigenous people. Each display case explores a different aspect of this perception of ‘nature’: Travelogues, Gardens, Waterfalls, and Wilderness. Curated by Rowan Red Sky, a PhD student at University of Toronto in the Art History program and the Book History and Print Culture program.

LANGUAGE TABLES AT MASSEY
Throughout the year, we host a number of informal ‘language’ tables. This is a process whereby participants come together to share a meal and practice various languages together.
The Italian table takes place every Monday afternoon for lunch, and the German table takes place every Friday. Participants are invited to meet in the JCR at 12:00 and move up to the dining hall at 12:15. An Irish table will take place on Monday for breakfast at 8:00am.
Reminder that our college calendar is a good way to stay up to date with what is going on at Massey!
Wishing everyone in the Jewish community at Massey a happy and healthy new year this Rosh Hashanah. L’Shana Tovah!
