Chukwunonso Nwabufo Appointed as Chair of the AAPS

In November 2023, Chukwunonso Nwabufo, was appointed as the Chair of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists at the AAPS Pharmsci 360 meeting in Orlando, Florida. The AAPS is the largest association of pharmaceutical sciences from academic, regulatory, and pharmaceutical/biotechnology sectors with over 5,000 members worldwide. The Pharmacokinetic, Pharmacodynamic, and Drug Metabolism (PPDM) community comprises over 1200 leading pharmaceutical scientists from academic and pharmaceutical institutions worldwide. They are poised to drive innovation, shape the future of drug development, and advance the field of pharmacology. 

“This esteemed appointment is a testament to the recognition and trust placed in my expertise by my peers and colleagues within the field of pharmaceutical sciences. In addition, at the same conference, I had the privilege of serving as an invited speaker and co-moderator of a symposium session,” stated Chukwunonso Nwabufo. 

On achieving the appointment Chukwunonso Nwabufo added, “It is a reflection of the dedication and excellence fostered by institutions like Massey College which have helped develop my leadership skills through the Junior Fellowship program.” I believe this achievement can serve as an inspiration for other Junior Fellows and demonstrate the unique opportunities and experiences that the College provides. 

“Chukwunonso Nwabufo’s contributions to the pharmaceutical sciences and his leadership role with the AAPS are outstanding. He is a wonderful exemplar of our Junior Fellows in that he seeks solutions to the complex problems facing society today. Chuk is a shining example in his daring to be wise and service to the public good,” says Acting College Principal Jonathan Rose.
