The Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation are holding their 12th annual Historical Gathering April 29 through May 1. The event is free and open to all, and will include music, art, lectures and discussions. Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day.
I will be going on Tuesday April 30, together with any college member who wishes to attend, under the auspices of the College Chapel Royal Committee. I’ll be driving, but we’ll need some other drivers as well! If you’d like to join, with or without a car, please email Committee Chair Mary McGeer by 12 noon on Thursday, April 11.

APRIL 10 | Massey Dialogues – Plastics Policy in Canada
What is Canada is doing on the plastics front? This conversation will focus on extended producer responsibility, Canada’s ban on single-use items, the myth of recycling, and the international agreement on plastic pollution currently being negotiated as part of UNEP. MP Julie Dabrusin (Member of Parliament for Toronto-Danforth), Dr. Chelsea Rochman (Professor at UofT) and Jo-Anne St. Godard (Executive Director of Circular Innovation Council) will join Alum Alice Zhu (moderator) on this important issue. April 15 | Book Launch – The Notwithstanding Clause and the Canadian Charter: Rights, Reforms, and Controversies (McGill-Queen’s University Press). The book was edited by Senior Fellow Peter L. Biro with contributions from many of Canada’s leading constitutional scholars. RSVP.

This panel session brings together thinkers in industrial relations, management, and economics alongside voices from government, industry, and labour to look beyond hype cycles and hand wringing to focus on complementary and cooperative approaches to technology and work. William Southam Journalism Alum Omayra Issa has been recognized by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader in their 2024 class.
Junior Fellow alum Caroline Monahan was awarded the Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship for her studies in the LLM program at Harvard Law School beginning this fall.
