The objective of the Fellowship is to strengthen and elevate the practice of journalism by offering outstanding journalists the opportunity to broaden their horizons through a period of study in a university setting. The Gordon N. Fisher / JHR Journalism Fellowship at Massey College, University of Toronto, provides one annual opportunity for a journalist from Sub-Saharan Africa or the Middle East to join the William Southam Journalism Fellowship Program.

Quadrangle Society members are business and community leaders typically working outside of academia who share the belief in, and enrich the interdisciplinary, intergenerational and inclusive Massey Community. Members of the Massey community are encouraged to nominate Quadrangle Society members.
Senior Fellows are prominent representatives of both academic and professional interests from around the world. They are nominated by a current member of the Massey community and, following the nomination process, they are elected by the Governing Board. Every year, up to twenty new Senior Fellows join Massey College.
The Massey College Alumni Association (MCAA), supported by the Principal and staff of the College, develops and maintains relationships between Massey Alumni to strengthen the bond alumni have with the College.
The awarding of Clarkson Laureateships was approved by the Governing Board in 2003 and the first awards were given out in 2004, during the final year that Madam Clarkson, a Senior Fellow of the College, was Governor General of Canada. 2021 nominations are now open!
