I am pleased to welcome the entire Massey Community to the inaugural Power of Image Lecture Series in partnership with the Aga Khan Museum. On Sunday, May 15th at 2:30pm you’re invited to a lecture on Image and Identity at the Aga Khan Museum to hear:
- Heba Mostafa, Massey Senior Fellow and Professor in the Department of Art History at UofT,
- Amira Elghawaby, Commissioner at the Canadian Race Relations Foundation,
- David Rokeby, Toronto artist and Director of the BMO Lab for AI and Emerging Technologies, .
- Mala Khanna (moderator) Associate Deputy Minister of Canadian Heritage
They will discuss the impact of our obsession with ‘image,’ the significance of the different ways in which we choose to represent ourselves visually, and how this often varies from the image others have or create of us.
