Director of Student Life Elena Ferranti will be leaving the College for an exciting opportunity at Victoria College. On your behalf, I want to thank Elena for her great service as Director of Student Life for the last 18 months and I want to send her my very best wishes in her new job. We will have occasions to celebrate more fully her years at Massey during the Fall, but in the meantime, grazie, Elena!
I am very pleased to let you know that Gia Ting has been promoted to College Registrar and will be responsible for admissions, the mentorship program, bursaries and all financial matters relating to the Junior Fellowship. Nasra Mahad is our new Student Life Coordinator and will work closely with the Residence Coordinator, Giulio Leghissa to support other aspects of Massey College life for the Junior Fellowship.
I am also happy to welcome our new Receptionist and Day Porter James Ly as well as Director of Advancement Alasdair Hooper.
James Ly brings a wealth of administrative, event services and client relations experience to his role as Receptionist & Day Porter. Most recently, James was a Patient Access Representative at Mackenzie Health. In the past, James owned an interior design consultancy, managed sales, special events and promotions in the fashion industry, and taught conversational English in Japan.
Alisdair Hooper comes to the College with more than 20 years of professional fundraising and advancement experience in the arts, health, and post-secondary sectors. In previous roles, Alasdair led the major gift fundraising for Roots of Empathy, was Director of the Massey Hall Forever Campaign and Associate Director of Development for the School of Arts, Media, Performance and Design at York University.
