News and Events

What a complicated spring it is! The war on Ukraine raises so many issues for all of us who believed in an evolving (progressively stronger) international legal order. The remedies seem so abstract, inadequate, and late…

Nevertheless, I hope that April is coming to you in a serene and safe way. We have special events to mark the end of the year and I want to invite you to share them with us. From our special 60th anniversary of the Southam Fellowship to David Cameron’s book launch to a discussion of Cyprus, care by siblings for persons with disabilities, and a celebration of the University of Toronto’s alumni, there is room for everyone’s interest.

We are planning for next academic year’s events and subjects of discussion, please send me your ideas.

Let me invite you to a special event, organized by the University of Toronto at Massey College.  President Gertler will be in attendance and we are very happy to partner in celebrating The GOWN: African Scholars Awards  which is the African Alumni Association’s signature event and was initiated to recognize and uphold African excellence, inspire commonality, and promote meaningful connections. Over forty notable U of T African alumni and friends have been recognized since The GOWN’s inception in 2017. This year an additional 17 members will be added to the community of distinguished African scholars. Join us Friday, April 8th from 3:00-5:00pm with a reception to follow.
