Cancel Culture & Anti-Racism: A Double-Edged Sword?

Join us for a moderated debate with members of Massey College’s Anti-Black Racism Counsel, hosted by Junior Fellow and Equity and Inclusivity Secretariat Co-Chair Kejah Bascon.

This timely and thought-provoking conversation will explore the complexities of holding individuals accountable while fostering both personal and systemic growth and change.

Panelists will engage in nuanced discussions around justice, redemption, and the impact of accountability on individuals and communities, particularly in relation to anti-Black racism.

The debate will also critically examine the potential drawbacks of cancel culture, questioning whether it hinders opportunities for reconciliation and transformation. Participants are invited to reflect on these pressing issues, contributing to a deeper understanding of how we can collectively pursue equity, inclusivity, and meaningful change in our communities.
