The Massey Dialogues – On Canada’s Cities (post-COVID): Where Are They Going?

Wednesday, November 4 at 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm EST

This event will be broadcast online and is welcome to all – there is no login or registration required to tune in from the comfort of home. Click here to watch the livestream.

COVID-19 has revealed deep fissures in both global and Canadian cities. Certain neighbourhoods stagger under high transmission rates while other areas remain largely untouched. Volatile housing prices see-saw as homelessness becomes increasingly visible. Businesses shutter while income inequality grows. Gaps surface in access to urban transportation as the labour force is restructured.

How will the post-COVID future unravel in Canadian and global cities? Join us for a life-streamed discussion with University of Toronto urbanologist David Hulchanski – a renowned international scholar on housing, homelessness, neighbourhoods, urban planning, and income inequality. Junior Fellows Stephanie Bertolo, a Master of Public Policy candidate at Munk School and Drew Kaufman, a Ph.D. candidate in economic geography, will guide the conversation, hosted by Senior Fellow Michael Valpy.

Click here to watch the livestream of this event. The Dialogues are open to the public – we invite everyone to join and take part in what will be a very informative online discussion. Participants are invited to submit questions to the speakers in real time via the youtube channel’s chat function. For information about the Massey Dialogues salon series, click here.
