Wisdom For a World Turned Upside Down
What can history and religion teach us when the world feels as though it is spinning off its axis? When world leaders wield power unjustly, what recourse do citizens have—and what responsibilities do Canadians hold in moments of global instability?
Join us for an evening of conversation and reflection with Professor Marci Shore, Professor of Intellectual History at the University of Toronto, and Rabbi Stephanie Crawley, leader of Toronto’s City Shul congregation. Both speakers have recently relocated to Canada from the United States, bringing with them urgent perspectives shaped by history, ethics, faith, and civic responsibility.
Together, they will explore how historical insight and religious thought can help us understand the present moment and consider what meaningful engagement looks like in uncertain times.
