Massey Summer Residence Programme

A designated Heritage building designed by celebrated architect Ron Thom, Massey College is nestled in the heart of the University of Toronto. The College is steps away the Museum and St. George subway stations, and around the corner from the Royal Ontario Museum, Gardiner Ceramic Arts Museum and the Yorkville area.  

During the summer term, Massey College open its rooms to the international academic community and public for summer accommodations during the months of May through August. With members of the College staying on as affiliated summer residents, Massey College offers a distinct environment that encourages open, diverse interactions, both socially and academically between all its guests.

All summer residents and guests must follow the Massey College Code of Conduct at all times and show respect for fellow residents and College property. Many residents are working on dissertations or independent research, and guests are expected to behave as though in another person’s home, with consideration and care.

By making a reservation, guests agree to all terms and conditions outlined.

The College reserves the right to terminate any summer residency immediately for:

  • Failure to follow the Code of Conduct or terms and conditions
  • Nonpayment of fees
  • Persistent disruptive behaviour

Important Information

  • Booking Availability & Request Information

    Bookings are available from May 1 to August 16, 2026.

    Before placing a booking request, please review the Policies and Standards. In particular, note that at least one guest over the age of 18 is required to make a booking. The College does not accommodate children under the age of 6.

    Please note that the booking tool submits a request only. The Summer Residence Manager will review your request and confirm on the next available business day.

  • Returning Guests & Group Bookings

    We value your loyalty and would love to welcome you back. If you have stayed at Massey College in the past five years, please email summerresidence@masseycollege.ca with your previous stay details. A special returning guest discount code may be provided for your next booking.

    Group Bookings:
    Group bookings require a 25% deposit and must be requested directly via email at summerresidence@masseycollege.ca.

  • Payment, Deposits & Cancellation Terms

    Massey College is a registered charity, and the supply of residential accommodation is tax exempt.

    A prepayment of the full balance up to 1 month is required to confirm the booking. For stays longer than 1 month, additional monthly payments are charged every 30 days from check-in until the remaining balance is paid.

    At its sole discretion and during peak periods, Massey College may require a minimum stay of two nights.

    Booking confirmations and other information are sent via email.

    Cancellation Policy:

    • Stays under 2 weeks: fully refundable if cancelled at least 15 days before arrival
    • Stays over 2 weeks and group bookings (more than 4 guests): fully refundable if cancelled at least 30 days before arrival (minus any applicable group booking deposits)
    • Cancellations closer to check-in may be subject to approval by the Summer Residence Manager and may not be refundable

  • Policies, Standards, Rooms & Conduct

    Residents’ rooms are located in five houses forming three sides of a quadrangle. The fourth side contains the Principal’s Lodging and Office, Robertson Davies Library, Upper Library, Ondaatje Hall (Dining), Private Dining Room, and Common Room.

    Room Types:

    • Standard Rooms: Bedroom plus adjacent private study. Bathroom shared (from hallway) with one or two other rooms. Most rooms are standard.
    • Senior Suites: Bedroom, private study, and ensuite bathroom.

    All rooms include basic furnishings (twin bed, linens, large built-in desk, coffee table, work chair, reclining chair) and are serviced by housekeeping. Double rooms include two twin beds. Wireless internet is available in all rooms.
